Absolute Zero
There is a temperature where everything in the entire universe solidifies. It is called 'absolute zero' and this temperature is the lowest possible temperature to go to. It is impossible to get lower than this temperature. The temperature is -273°C... Absolute Zero
Who Discovered It?
Lord Kelvin. He invented the Kelvin scale, in which absolute zero was measured as 0°Kelvin.
Our Investigation
Aim:
To find out the volume of the gas in the conical flask. This experiment is about finding absolute zero by using a graph. We found the temperatures and volume of the gas ( air ) and plotted it on paper, then drew a line until it intersected the y axis, and where it intersected was absolute zero.
Equipment:
Big flask with 900mL water
Conical flask filled with 500mL air
Thermometer
Hotplate
Dry ice ( -79 )
